HOW GROW SHOES ARE MADE
We use fibre from organic matter (like pineapple husks and apple cores) which are ground into fibre length staples and then pressed together to make our microfiber material which is 6 times stronger than leather.
Our shoes were lasted by Italian shoemakers (lasting is the process of shaping a shoe so it fits, we use Italian shoemakers because we respect their age-old craftsmanship, experience, and innate knowledge ). Stitching the upper and attaching the sole is done at a family-owned factory in Portugal which specialises in highly ethical and high-quality manufacturing.
They are then transported by road to Northampton, UK, using a process of shared freight (ie we take up spaces in trucks that would otherwise travel empty), where our small team store, package and ship every order by hand.
That is a total travel distance of less than 1,500 miles - over 20,000 fewer carbon-emitting miles per pair when compared to other school shoemakers in the UK who source their (animal) materials in Latin America and compile their shoes in northern Vietnam.
DELEVERY AND RETURNS
We deliver to all UK Mainland addresses. We offer both Priority and Standard shipping on all our products, shipping costs are available to view at Checkout when selecting your delivery method. Most deliveries should arrive between 1-3 days. We aim to dispatch all orders from our warehouse the same weekday as ordered, providing that the order is received before 1pm. Orders received after 1pm on weekdays are shipped the next weekday.
For returns while we hope you will be satisfied with your order, if there are any issues you may return you items within 14 days of receipt of your order. We will refund the price of the order, provided the products are in a saleable, unworn condition and in their original, undamaged packaging.
